Obituary of Janet Meta Leschinsky

JANET M. LESCHINSKY– age 93 of Jefferson died peacefully at her home on June 1, 2018.  Janet was born on July 10, 1924, the first born daughter of Otto and Meta (Streich) Giese.

As a graduate of Johnson Creek High School, she married her high school sweet heart, Roy Leschinsky on January 4, 1942.  They resided on their farm in the Town of Aztalan their entire lives.  She loved to see the cows on green pastures in the spring time.  As a homemaker, Janet enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.  Her optimistic nature brought joy to all those around her.  One of her favorite musical artists was Willie Nelson, and she also enjoyed listening to polka music on the radio.  In her later years she loved watching her great-grandchildren growing up.  She enjoyed paging through all the pictures she had of them.  Janet was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

She is survived by her daughter Janice (Robert) Keuler of Jefferson, two sons Roy (Priscilla) Leschinsky of Fox Point, John Leschinsky of Jefferson.

Her six grandchildren, Darianne (Steve) Nelson, Darla Gehl, Desha (Brian) Pulkrabek, Dee Dee (Craig) Lepple, Gregory Leschinsky, Renee Leschinsky.  Eight great-grandchildren Natalyn and Nacaela Nelson, Kyla and Kessa Pulkrabek, Josh and Jordan Gehl, Caden and Coye Lepple.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Roy Leschinsky, grandson Ryan Keuler, grandson-in-law, Jeff Gehl and her sister Lois Schloesser.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 5, 2018 at Schneider-Michaelis funeral home in Jefferson, with the Rev. Matthew Krenke presiding.  Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Jefferson.  Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
