Obituary of Mary Ellen Monogue

MARY E. MONOGUE, 85 of Jefferson passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

 

She was born on September 21, 1938 in Watertown to Estelle (Hoene) and Frank Vaughan.  She attended Sullivan grade school and graduated in 1956 from Jefferson High School.

 

Mary married Robert Monogue on November 3, 1956 in Sullivan. They raised their five children in Jefferson.  She worked at Braun’s Lumber Company and at Farmers and Merchants Bank.

 

She enjoyed the simple things in life. Bobbie was the love of her life.

 

She is survived by her children, Brian (Vicky) Monogue of Jefferson, Angela (Brian) Hoffman of Jefferson, Kevin Monogue of Milwaukee, Amy (Leslie) King of Lincoln, NE and Melissa (James) McGowan of Jefferson, ;  grandchildren Toby (Dana) Monogue, Emily (Michael) Frier, Natalie (Bryan) Briscoe, Sarah (Brett) Hagland, Zachariah (Amber) King and Thadden, Maxwell and Ian McGowan; great grandchildren Drew, Merit, McKenna, Kane, Lennox, Breeley, Landon, Liam, Olivia, Allen and Brielle; great-grandchildren, Declan and Phillip; siblings Jim (Susan) Vaughan and Joan (Lee) Heideman; in-laws, Marcia Bare, Margery and Greg Ashburn and James and Ellin Monogue.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents Estelle and Frank Vaughan, and brothers-in-law Merrill Monogue and Andy Bare Sr.

 

As per her wishes, a memorial service will be held for immediate family.
