Obituary of Lelia Mae Spangler

LELIA M. SPANGLER age 85 of Jefferson passed away at Park Terrace Assisted Living in Watertown on Saturday May 12, 2018.  She was born on August 9, 1932 in Edgerton, daughter of the late Paul and Freda (Bielefeldt) Dorn.  She married David Spangler on February 19, 1955 at St. John the Baptist Rectory.  David preceded her in death on December 5, 1989.  Lelia enjoyed music and made music a very important part of her life as she raised her children.  She volunteered at many local nursing homes playing her accordion and keyboard.  She was an avid BINGO player and attended many local games.

She will be deeply missed by her family, sons Daniel (Gay) Spangler of Jefferson,

Michael (Cheryl Samuel) Spangler of Jefferson.  Grandchildren Timothy (Erica) Spangler, Jennifer (Carlos) Sampayo, Nellie (Tony) Ganoni, Mollie Spangler, Jennifer Splittgerber, Yvonne (Dominic Denzow) Samuel, James (Alyssa) Samuel.  Great grandchildren, Mackenzie Spangler, A.J. Ganoni, Adilyn Samuel, Brandon Samuel.  Brother Gailen (Vi) Dorn of Whitewater.  She is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Paul Dorn and Bernard LeRoy Dorn

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 17, 2018 at the Schneider-Michaelis funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle presiding.  Burial will follow the service in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday May 16, at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m. 

The family would like to thank all caregivers at Park Terrace Assisted Living and the Marquardt Hospice for all their compassion & care they gave to Lelia.
