Obituary of Violet Lorraine Mattrisch

VIOLET L. MATTRISCH age 90 of Jefferson passed away on October 16,2010 at Alden Estates of Countryside, in Jefferson. She was born on March 1, 1920 in the town of Farmington, daughter of the late Otto and Dora (Senkel) Draeger. She was a lifelong farmer on the family farm. She was also worked at Bon Ton Bakery, Hartwig Poultry Farms. Violet enjoyed playing the guitar, and saxophone. She was very proud of her team of work horses, and was an avid checker player. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She will be deeply missed by her daughter; Jean (Dale Weis) Burhans of Helenville. Sons; Roger (Helen) Mattrisch of Jefferson, Brian Mattrisch of Helenville. 9 grandchildren; David (Michele) Mattrisch, Daniel (Betty) Mattrisch, Donald Mattrisch Dawn (Scott) Borchardt, Barbara (Thomas) Ames, Rebecca (William Korallis) Rueth Toby Rueth, Catherine Gallitz, Timothy Gallitz 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. One sister; Marcella (Warren) Michaelis of Plover Daughter-in-law; Karen Bailey, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her son Richard, daughter Beverly, Sister and Brother in law; Alice & Donald Messmer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2010 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating, burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson, and then again on Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
