Obituary of LeRoy Zick

LEROY "MITTEN" ZICK age 71 of Jefferson passed away unexpectedly at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. He was born to LeRoy Sr. and Edith (Waydick) Zick, on August 3, 1939 in Sauk City, Wisconsin, the oldest of nine children . He married Marlene Walk on June 23, 1962 at St. Mark's ELCA in Jefferson. He attended Madison East High School. LeRoy served in the United States Army in Germany, from 1956-1960. LeRoy enjoyed hunting. He was a Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan, but mostly he loved to cheer for his grandchildren in the sports in which they participated. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. He will be deeply missed by his wife Marlene of Jefferson. Daughter; Susan (Kevin) Marek of Fort Atkinson, Sons; Anthony "Tony" (Debra) Zick of Jefferson, Daniel Zick of Fort Atkinson Grandchildren; Nathan and Amanda Zick. Sisters; Delores (Mike) Christenson of Hot Springs Arkansas Victoria (Dave) DeBolt of Oxford; Brothers; Morris Zick of Jefferson, Douglas (Vicki) Zick of Johnson Creek Duane Zick of Madison, William Zick of Sullivan, Joseph (Aimee) Zick of Jefferson. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Roundy, grandson Jacob Zick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating, burial with Military Honors will follow at the Union Cemetery in Jefferson. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson, and then again on Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00a.m. until the time of services.
