Obituary of Richard Edward Mueller
RICHARD E. MUELLER age 90 of Jefferson passed away Saturday July 31, 2010 at Alden Estates of Countryside. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on March 14, 1920, son of the late E. Philip and Winifred (Moffot) Mueller.
He married Marjorie Henry on October 2, 1943 in Jefferson.
Richard graduated from Jefferson High School and graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College.
He served 3 years in World War II in the United States Army Air Force as a First Lieutenant with the 14th Air Force known as the General Chennaults Flying Tigers in the China Burma India Theater of Operations.
He was employed in the Jefferson Post Office on a part time basis for 29 years. He was an avid golfer at Meadow Springs for many years, and an avid Cubs fan.
Lt. Mueller was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Endl Gruennert Post 3589, the American Legion Reinhardt-Windl Post 164, and the 14th Air Force Association.
Member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife; Marjorie of Jefferson

Granddaughters; Kerry (Benjamin) Wehmeier, Megan Flanagan

Great grandchildren; Madigan, Lillian Wehmeier
Step-great grandren; Blaine Rice and Nick Elias
Special friend; Jon Hotter of Jefferson.
Pallbearers for Richard will be; Edward Waterbury, Jon Hotter, Richard Heger, James Flanagan, Benjamin Wehmeier and Robert Zickler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 5, 2010 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Jefferson with the Rev. Wayne Mueller officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow in the Union Cemetery in Jefferson.
Friends may call on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richards memory.
Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson is assisting the family with arrangements.
