Obituary of Margaret Caroline Borchardt

MARGARET C. BORCHARDT age 89 of Jefferson, passed away on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Daughter of the late Frank and Augusta (Albrecht) Berg she was born on May 31, 1921 on the family farm in the Town of Oakland. She married Floyd J. Borchardt on July 7, 1945 at St. Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church in Sullivan. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1994. She was a member of the Lake Mills United Methodist Church. Margaret lived a long and faithful life. While she was a homemaker her entire life she also enjoyed her garden and her creative work with embroidery. Margaret enjoyed her gardening and outdoor summertime experiences. The many lovely flowers that graced her home and yard gave witness to her "Green Thumb" and love for her outside area. She always showed a lasting smile and a strong sense of humor. She loved to treat her extended family and friends with humorous greeting cards and a caring smile which revealed her loving spirit. While she was a quiet and introverted sort of person, she always appreciated the neighborly friendship she maintained for countless years with her friends and close neighbors in Jefferson on Racine Street. Cell phones, email, Internet, texting and Face book were not for Margaret. She grew up and lived in a time when seeing family and friends was done up close and personal, face to face. And she always appreciated and enjoyed the visits her family and friends made to her in her home. Margaret lived a quiet, gentle and peaceful life. For her good nature, her sure faith in God, her sweet spirit of love for others and her appreciation for the love given to her; she has been granted the gift of heaven this day and God has welcomed home a good and faithful servant. She will be deeply missed by; Her niece; Wendy Rubenbauer of Lake Mills, Nephew; David Bentheimer of Lake Mills Several great nieces and great nephews other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by one sister Norma Bentheimer, Brothers-in-law; Herbert Bentheimer, and Jerald Borchardt. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 2, 2010 at the United Methodist church in Lake Mills, with the Rev. William McBride officiating.
