Obituary of Richard Ralph Rueth
RICHARD R. RUETH age 82 of Jefferson passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 5, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Richard was surrounded by his wife and family as he passed to the Lord. He was born on March 26, 1928, son of the late Roy and Audrey (Weissman) Rueth. He married Gladys Lipperer on June 4, 1949 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson.
Richard was a lifelong dairy farmer in Jefferson. Following his retirement from farming he worked at St. Coletta of Wisconsin from 1989 to 2004.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of the Pure Milk Products Board. He served as a County Board Supervisor for Jefferson County from 1966-1970. Richard's passion for farming continued throughout his life. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, World Dairy Expo and attending cattle shows through out the Midwest and Canada.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Rueth of Jefferson
Two daughters; Linda (Michael) Lyster of Oshkosh, Marie (Doug)Linse of Jefferson
Two sons; Eric (JoAnne) Rueth of Jefferson, Mark (Nicky Reape) Rueth of Oxford.
Seven grand children; Michael (Shannan) Linse, Shannon Linse, Miranda (Mike) Foy,
Natalie, and Corrina Lyster, Trent, and Kyia Rueth.
Sister Elizabeth (Robert) Schmaling of Fort Atkinson, brother; Frank (Marge) Rueth of Necedah WI.
He is preceded in death by one sister Lorraine Probst.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 10th,2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Jefferson with the Rev. John Urban officiating, private family burial will follow at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm. on Wednesday at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson, with Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Memorials may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Endowment Fund or to the Jefferson High School's Agriculture Department.
