Obituary of Carl Frank Wedl

CARL F. WEDL age 87 of Jefferson, passed away Monday November 9, 2009 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. He was born November 13, 1921 son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Schakelman) Wedl. He married Betty Schroedl on February 7, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. Carl served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart award for injuries incurred in France. He was employed at Ladish Malt Co. for 35 years retiring in 1985. His love of family was the most important thing to Carl and he will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years; Betty Wedl of Jefferson His seven children; Bonnie Bull, Vickie MacWilliams, Scott (Marla) Wedl and Laurie (Jeff) Schopen all of Jefferson, Sonja (Charlie) Untz of Lake Mils, Tammie (Jim) Fischer of Waukesha, and Todd (Diana) Wedl of Cheyenne Wyoming. 25 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Brothers; Jerome "Chummy" Wedl, and Raymond (Jane) Wedl both of Jefferson. Sister-in-law; Leona Wedl of Jefferson. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Wilfred, Marvin, Margaret, William, Robert, Theresa, Dorothy, and Rosemary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, on Saturday November 14th, with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
