Obituary of Marcella Esther Michaelis

MARCELLA E. "MARCI" MICHAELIS age 93 of Plover (formerly of Jefferson), passed away at her home in Plover. She was born on July 25, 1924 at the family home in Farmington to Otto and Dora (Senkel) Draeger. She married Warren P. Michaelis on November 12, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington, he preceded her in death on February 7, 2015. She and her husband farmed in the Farmington area on Christberg Road raising Hampshire hogs, Suffolk sheep and Angus Beef and later in the Lake Mills area on their Hy Quest Ranch on Hwy B, they raised and showed registered AQHA Quarter horses. Marci also had worked at Schweiger Industries in Jefferson, Basso in Watertown, and the Maximillian House in Jefferson. She was an avid reader and kept up on local and national news and had no problem giving her political opinions to family and friends. She was very patriotic and loved her Country. She enjoyed quilting and counted cross-stitch and was always up for the challenge of a new pattern even as her eyesight began to fade. Marci loved to read her bible and was the family prayer warrior. She will be deeply missed by her family, daughters Karen (Bill) Johnson of Port Charlotte FL, Sandi (Ralph) Nehls of Watertown, Debra (Marc) Levy of Stevens Point and son Ronald (Marla) Michaelis of Jefferson. 9 grandchildren; Susan (Robby) Thomas of Port Charlotte FL, Thomas (Dawn) Gruennert of Traverse City, MI, Christine (Tim) Nobling of Rome, WI, David (Carmen) Michaelis of Hartland, Brian (Brandi) Levy of Fishers, IN, Scott Levy of Neenah, WI, Sarah Miller of Louisville, KY, Alexander Schneider of Chicago, IL, Ellyse (Charlie) Jacobs of Livonia, MI. 14 great grandchildren; Samantha, Dustin, Sydney Thomas; Darby and Eden Gruennert; Adam, Ezra, Otto Nobling; Sam, Cal, Gus Michaelis; Brooklyn Levy; Charlie and Evelyn Jacobs. Brother-in-law; Donald Michaelis of Monona, WI. Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Warren, her parents, and two sisters; Alice Messmer, and Violet Mattrisch. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday December 9th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson with the Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating, with burial to follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington. Visitation will take place from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday evening December 8th at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson, and then again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff at The Lodge in Plover for the wonderful care they gave Marcy over the past several years, And a special thanks to Dr. Nancy Swisher, and Dr. Tariq for their compassion and care.
