Obituary of Edward Valentine Fornecker

EDWARD "EDDIE" V. FORNECKER age 83 of Jefferson passed away February 4, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, North Carolina. He was born June 27, 1924, in the town of Jefferson, WI son of the late Albert and Mathilda (Popp) Fornecker. Eddie was a retired dairy farmer in Jefferson County and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Jefferson. He enjoyed life - visiting neighbors, friends and family. He found enjoyment in yard work, doing odd jobs around the farm and planting flowers. In recent years, he spent his winters in North Carolina with family - enjoying pinochle, football, old movies, and his daily walk and celebrating the Christmas Season. He is survived by his sister-in-law Mrs. Irving (Ollie) Fornecker of Pikeville, NC. And his two nephews and their families: Mike (Janelle) Fornecker of Kings Mountain, NC, Gary Fornecker of Pikeville, NC Great nephews and great nieces Ben Fornecker of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kay (Ken) Wigington of Durham, NC, Joe (fiancée Kristen Calhoun) Fornecker of Cherryville, NC. Sam Fornecker of Greensboro, NC, Mitch Fornecker of Goldsboro, NC. Eddie leaves many friends and neighbors that care for him deeply. Eddie was preceded in death by his two brothers: Robert "Bob" Fornecker of Jefferson County and Irving Fornecker of Pikeville, NC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 9, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Schneider Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson and then again at the Church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
