Obituary of Florence Marie HAMILTON

Florence M. Hamilton; age 92 of Jefferson passed away on November 29,1997 at Countryside Home in Jefferson. She was born on September 8, 1915 in Prairie du Chien, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Suhrada) Konicheck. She married Charles Hamilton on February 12, 1941; he preceded her in deth on December 17, 1993. She graduated from Prairie du Chien high school in 1933. Following her marriage to Charles they farmed in Wyalusing Wisconsin until she and her family moved to Jefferson in 1959. Florence was employed as a teller for the Prairie du Chien Bank in Prairie du Chien and later employed as a manager of the Order Department as Schweiger Industries for 21 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and the Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by one son William Hamilton of Edinburg VA On daughter, Carol Hamilton of Brillion WI, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters; Helen Mezera, Myrtle Konicheck and Grace Kozelka, one son Jack Hamilton, and one daughter Mary Jane Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 2, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home Jefferson, and then again on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m.until the time of Mass. Florence will be remembered for her faith in God, her lover and loyalty to her family and friends, her great sense of humor, her fondness for plants and animals, and her unwavering courage in the face of adversity. Her loving memory will remain in our hearts forever. Her family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to the Jefferson Community Foundation~Countryside Home.
