Obituary of Roger Keith Nordberg

­Roger Keith Nordberg, 70 of Fort Atkinson (formerly of Jefferson) passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior at St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville, WI on Saturday December 17, 2022 with his family by his side.

He was born in Janesville, WI to the late May (Walling) Mercado and Glare Nordberg. He was joined in marriage on June 5, 1971 to Christine Lenz.  In their 51 years of marriage they raised 4 sons; Travis (Darcy), Lake Mills, Troy (Kathy), Madison, Jeremy (Chris), Fort Atkinson and Toby (Pam), Wisconsin Rapids and a very special nephew, Eugene (Melissa) Treptow.

In Roger’s extended family he has 4 grandchildren; Hannah (Brock) Nordberg, Madison, Alexzander Nordberg, Fort Atkinson, Allen Warn, Wisconsin Rapids, Cassie Treptow Randolph, great-grandson Quinn Scullion, Madison and his second great-grandson on its way.

He is also survived by his wife Chris; sister, Barbara and brothers, William, David, Terry and Rodney.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Katherine, Bonnie and Glenda; 4 brothers Glare Jr., Dennis, Tom and Michael and his parents.

Roger retired from Countryside Home and Alden Estates in 2011 where he worked in various jobs for 42 years. Roger’s passion was woodworking which he passed to his sons.  He loved his flowers and watching his back yard bird friends; he especially loved the cardinals in addition to his family camping getaways.  Most of all he loved spending time with his boys and grandchildren sharing these passions and hobbies.

Roger will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service.
