Obituary of Donna Mae Peterson

DONNA M. (POLINSKE) PETERSON, age 81 of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday May 5, 2019, at Lilac Care Facility in Lake Mills.  Donna was born in Farmington on October 6, 1937 to Hilbert and Mabel (Spence) Polinske.  Donna graduated from Johnson Creek High School. She married James N. Peterson on August 2, 1958 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, they enjoyed 60+ years of marriage.  Donna was employed at the Jefferson East Elementary school for over 32 years as the school Librarian.  She loved her flower gardening and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  She is survived by her loving husband James Peterson of Jefferson, her daughters and sons-in-law; Dr. Joseph and Kim (Peterson) Jameson Marquette MI and Scott and Brenda (Peterson) Ciske of Fort Atkinson.  Grandchildren Margaret Booth Jameson, Joseph Tucker Jameson, and Zita Aumann Jameson, Amanda Lea Ciske, Nathan Ryne Ciske.  Sister Dawn (Polinske) Baechle, and Sister and Brother-in-laws Dennis and Judy (Peterson) Gruennert, William and Janet (Wedl) Peterson.  Nieces and nephews; Ned and Sarah (Peterson) Healy, Mark and Susie (Friesch) Peterson, Tom and Pam (Gruennert) Finger, Jeff and Amy (Zlensky) Gruennert, Lori Baechle, Lisa Baechle, Todd Baechle.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilbert and Mabel (Spence) Polinske, in-laws, Norman (Zita Aumann) Peterson. 

A Memorial Mass for Donna will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday May 10, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow the Mass, in the Parish cemetery.  A gathering time and visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Rainbow Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
