Gary was a great guy! We would have pool parties, go on bike rides, and just chill! The Cotter family means so much to mine. We love you all and are praying for healing and calmness during this difficult time. Gary will be missed but his legacy will live on forever!
Tammy, Riley and Jacob
My Heart is truly broken for your loss. Gary will never be forgotten. May God give him eternal rest and you the strength to bear this great pain.
Love you all always
I met Gary at Exide when he helped us close the Aurora office to move it to Lombard, he was a passionate nice friendly worker. I know he will be missed by many.
My condolence to the family.
Your presence will be missed dearly, Gary. I feel blessed to have crossed paths with you during your time here on earth. I am forever indebted to you for the time and effort that you invested in me. I can only imagine the number of lives that you touched and how many people are better for having known you. You were a fearless leader that provided firm guidance, direction, and genuine support to bring out the best in all of your employees. It is hard to accept the fact that you are gone but I know we will see you again.
I am heartbroken. Not just as a coworker, Gary was and will remain one of my closest friends. He will never know how many lives he touched and how many of us were better human beings for knowing him. This loss really hurts.
To his loved ones, my deepest condolences.
Where to begin, Gary was a one if a kind guy! He was a big guy with a huge heart! My family and I have so many memories of him and Tammy and the boys. My heart breaks with them. Trusting God will surround them in the next days and months ahead. You will be missed!!
Thank you for giving me an oppurntunity...Thank you for standing for me and being hard on me and not allowing me to "slide"...I keep hearing you call me "Kid" like dude I'm 29yrs old, The constant duplications of emails will not be missed but your way of getting your point across and demanding greatness will. Youre the best and most fair boss I've ever had, and I appreciate you for it...You will be missed Cotter,
..we should be remembered for the things we do. The things we do are the most important things of all. They are more important than what we say or what we look like. The things we do outlast our mortality. The things we do are like monuments that people build to honour heroes after they've died. They're like the pyramids that the Egyptians built to honour the Pharaohs. Only instead of being made out of stone, they're made out of the memories people have of you. That's why your deeds are like your monuments. Built with memories instead of with stone
It fills my heart that we were able to become friends these past few years. It saddens me that we won’t have our weekly talks anymore. You are now in peace. My prayers are for you and the strength of your family. Until we meet again, “my brother from another mother”. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Lighting a candle (here and at home) in honor of Gary's life and enduring spirit! May you rest well and may your family be comforted by knowing that you are at peace with the Lord.
