Obituary of Irene Katherine Tlachac

IRENE K. TLACHAC age 88 formerly of Jefferson, passed away on November 24, 2018 at her home in Whitewater.  She was born on February 13, 1930 in Casco, WI, daughter of the late Wencil and Lucy (Sisel) Sticka.  Irene married William “Cliff” Tlachac on June 5, 1948 in Kewaunee; he preceded her in death on February 16, 2016.  Irene worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years for Jefferson County and then as an Occupational Aid for Countryside nursing home for 30+ years.  She managed the woodworking department and loved her “guys”.  Less loved was her chore of putting up 29 Christmas trees each winter.  She and Cliff enjoyed traveling and visiting 49 states in a series of RV’s.  She and Cliff met at a dance hall during the war (she loved a man in uniform!) and they continued to dance over the years.  She tolerated his inability to tell left from right during a period of square dancing.  She enjoyed music of all types but particularly Country and Western singers.  They went to dozens of concerts and spent several vacations in Branson, MO meeting the Stars.  She loved to spend time with her family and made quilts, crocheted and took crafting classes over the years.  She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Tlachac of Alameda CA, and son Ralph Tlachac of Beloit.  Grandchildren Robert Tlachac and Anna (Mark) Milner.  Great-grandchildren Malachi Berger, Azriel and Ezekiel Milner.  Many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Cliff Tlachac, brothers Lester, Lewis, Alfred, Clarence and sisters Evelyn Verna, Gladys.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday December 1, 2018 at Schneider-Michaelis funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Mark Niehaus officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.  Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in Irene’s name.
