Obituary of Suzanne Marie Bilau
SUZANNE "SUE" M. BILAU, age 70, of Jefferson, WI passed away on October 19, 2018, after a battle with West Nile Virus.
Sue was born in Jefferson, WI on March 16, 1948, the daughter of Harold and June Gross.
She was the youngest sister of Judy and John Gross.
After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1966, Sue married her high school sweetheart; Lance Bilau on July 13, 1968. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking their children and grandchildren on a special vacation to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Sue worked in a variety of roles at Badger Press for over 25 years. She retired in 2013.
While her children were growing up, she worked as a cook at St John’s Lutheran School.
Her hobbies included traveling, gardening and watching her grandchildren grow up.
She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. On any given day Sue could be found in the bleachers, by the side of the pool or in the lake supporting her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband; Lance Bilau of Jefferson WI, three sons; Eric (Debra) Bilau of Cambridge, WI, Craig (Gloria) Bilau of Fort Atkinson, WI and Joel (Melissa) Bilau of Fort Atkinson, WI, and 6 grandchildren; Joshua, Lauren, Annika, Ethan, Mia, and Miranda Bilau. She is also survived by her sister; Judy (Greg) Sturm (Evergreen, CO) and her brother; John (Randy) Gross (Russellville, AL) and many nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and June Gross.
The Christian funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday October 25 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, WI with the Rev. Joshua Martin presiding. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Schneider-Michaelis funeral home in Jefferson and then again on Thursday at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Rock River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St John’s Lutheran Church, Jefferson WI or Tomorrow’s Hope.
The family wishes to thank St Mary’s ICU staff and everyone who has reached out to them during this difficult time, specifically Sue’s dear friends Lucy Schultz and Peggy Weber.
