Obituary of Leland Dean Linse
LELAND “LEE” D. LINSE age 85 of Helenville passed away on Friday July 27, 2018 at the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 15, 1932, and was the son of the late Waldemar and Virginia (Weide) Linse. He married Carol Abel on October 18, 1952 she preceded him in death on June 22, 1996. He married Barbara Blank (Rieck) on May 12, 2001 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sullivan.
Lee had been employed at the Carnation Company in Sullivan for several years as a printer. He also drove truck for his father’s family business. In addition he worked at Wolf Paving and assisted in his son’s laundry business in Sullivan.
Lee served in the United States Army Reserves and was proud of his service. He enjoyed helping others and was well known as “Mr. Fix It” and had the ability to fix just about anything. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed dancing and camping.
He enjoyed sports, and especially enjoyed watching his Packers on Fall Sunday afternoons.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Linse of Helenville. Sons Doug (Marie) Linse of Jefferson, Dennis (Laura) Linse of Sullivan, Greg (Mary) Linse of Omro, Todd (Patti) Linse of Jefferson,
Harv (Angela) Linse of Jefferson. Step-son Mark Rieck of Jefferson,
step-daughter Michelle (Charlie) Braun of Jefferson. 15 grandchildren Michael (Shannan) Linse, Shannon (Jay) Benish, Aaron (Jenny Wene) Linse, Emily (Alex) Goranson,
Peter (Tess Willson) Linse, Matthew (Cynthia) Linse, Hannah (Andrew) Luedtke, Danny (Lindsey) Linse, Taylor Linse, Megan Linse, Brooke (Nick Saunders) Linse, Zachary Linse, Brennan Linse, Calli Linse and Mariah Linse. 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Carol Linse.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at St. Mark’s Lutheran church with the Rev. David Zandt presiding. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Sullivan. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
Memorials may be given in Lee’s name to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
