Condolence: So sorry to hear of Father John's passing. I've known him for years. He was our priest in Lancaster when I lived there. Really enjoyed his sermons. His were always so interesting and I really looked forward to them. You have my sympathy.
Condolence: It was a high point of the day to deliver the mail to both
Father John and his mother, Florence. Many times, the mail
truck got stuck out back of the house, buthe'd ALWAYS come on out to help. Both Father John and Florence were so proud of
the big tree behind the house. He pointed out the Orchid growing in the crotch of the tree. It was my pleasure to come
out and plant flats of flowers around the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Spring. Florence would come out and watch, as well as the pair of geese nesting nearby. Father John had a pretty rough time trying to keep the Rock River away from his front door. Sand bagging helped. So did prayer. I miss him. I was going to see him after I heard the Johnson Creek EMS come out and transport him to Fort. He had been discharged, went home and then passed away. There is lots of fond memories from the house. He was a servant of God. God has accepted his soul with open arms!
Condolence: My mother, sisters, and I will always have a special place in our hearts for dear Father John as he gave us such comfort in anointing my dad before he died in 2010. His loving, calming presence was a gift to all of us. We lost a good priest, but Heaven has gained a shining angel! Godspeed, Father John.
