Obituary for Nancy Leonard
NANCY SUE LEONARD, age 70 of Jefferson passed away April 25, 2017 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Nancy was born on December 14, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Paul J. and Jane (McKee) Leonard. She lived in Jackson MO with her parents and siblings Angeline, Andrew, Cynthia, and Mark. She attended Jackson Public Schools 1951-1960 and was enrolled at the St. Coletta School from 1961-1967. After graduation from St. Coletta, Nancy returned home to Missouri to live with her parents, take art lessons to create beautiful paintings and work at Lenco, Inc. Plastics division. Nancy was accepted into the Resident Worker Program at St. Coletta in 1975 and was employed in the housekeeping and food preparation departments until 1999. She then worked at Affirmative Industries as a piece worker until her retirement in 2007. Nancy loved to sing and dance to music. All of her friends knew she particularly loved Wayne Newton's music. Nancy enjoyed watching the Packers, especially Brett Favre. She was a Special Olympian who won many ribbons and medals for swimming, horseback riding and track and field.
She will be missed by her Sister Cynthia Leonard, Brothers Andy and Mark Leonard, Good Friend Sally Rynott, Cousin Krys Ranno, nieces and all of her friends at St. Coletta.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday May 4th, 2017 at Alverno Chapel of the Flowers. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon with a time of remembrance just prior to the Mass.
Burial will follow in the St. Coletta Cemetery in Jefferson.
Memorials in Nancy’s name may be given to St. Coletta of Wisconsin.
